Weather disrupts university schedule

Because of a severe winter storm that moved through the St. Louis region, Washington University closed all campuses except for the School of Medicine at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31. Updated information regarding potential closing of the university today, Feb. 1, can be found on the university’s home page, wustl.edu. Talbott to speak on polarization in politics

Statesman Strobe Talbott, president of the Brookings Institution, will present “Angels of Our Nature: Polarization in America and Its Challenge to Universities and Think Tanks” at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, in Whitaker Hall Auditorium. Multiple Feminisms Lecture series launched

Art historian Richard Meyer, author of Outlaw Representation: Censorship and Homosexuality in Twentieth-Century American Art, will launch the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts’ Multiple Feminisms Lecture Series Feb. 2.   • Men’s basketball back to winning ways. The men’s basketball team extended its win streak to four games with a pair of home victories over Carnegie Mellon University and Case Western Reserve University this past weekend. The team goes on a four-game road trip to try to extend the streak, beginning with a crucial conference game at Carnegie Mellon University Friday, Feb. 4.
